Lukaku to score anytime
Lukaku struck 24 goals in 32 matches in Serie A last term and the forward also enjoyed a good showing at the Euros in the summer. He returns to the Premier League with a game that seems tailor made for him to make an impression, so we’re kicking things off by backing the Belgian to score.
Timo Werner to make an assist
With Lukaku up top the scoring burden is removed from Timo Werner, who has always looked better as one of the two supporting players in Thomas Tuchel’s setup. Last term he picked up eight assists in the Premier League and we can see him beating that total this term. Given the attacking options in the side, back Werner to turn creator here.
Pablo Mari to be booked
Lukaku’s arrival will also have an impact on the Arsenal backline, with Pablo Mari likely to have to deal with him. The defender struggled to manage Ivan Toney against Brentford and with the Blues likely to push plenty of attacking talents up in support of Lukaku, back Mari to pick up a caution.
Marcos Alonso to have 1+ shots on target
Alonso looks to have secured his place in the side and he’s an effective option from wing-back. The Spaniard had two shots on target against Crystal Palace and he averaged 0.8 per game in the Premier League last term. Tuchel likes him as an option on the left flank so back him to get forward and work the goalkeeper.
Bukayo Saka to have 2+ shots
Arsenal looked flat going forward in their last game and the return of Saka to the starting lineup should help things for them. The young England start averaged 1.9 shots per game last term and with their leading strikers likely to miss out back Saka to carry the shooting burden.
