Tuesday night may be empty without top level football, but the EFL Trophy has come in to fill the gap. While it may not be the most popular tournament in English football, there’s a huge slate of matches to enjoy.

Betting tip: Lincoln to win
Lincoln have already got a win under their belt in this competition this season, beating Manchester United U21 3-2. They’ve not lost within 90 minutes in this competition across their last nine outings.
Meanwhile, Bradford haven’t won a home game in the EFL Trophy across their previous eight attempts, losing four of their last five here. We expect that to continue against League One Lincoln.
Burton vs MK Dons
Betting tip: Both teams to score
Burton’s EFL Trophy games over the years have been entertaining, with five of their last six seeing both teams score. While the hosts have made a good start to the season, they’ve only kept one clean sheet in their last five.
Meanwhile, it’s been a high-scoring start for the Dons. Four of their five games in League One this term have seen both teams score, having scored at least twice in four of those outings too. We’re backing goals for these two sides on Tuesday.
Oldham vs Salford
Betting tip: Salford to win
Oldham are 23rd in League Two after an awful start and their late comeback against bottom-club Sutton isn’t likely to save their season. The Latics meet a Salford side who won the 2020 edition of this competition in this year’s delayed final.
Salford are likely to make another push for silverware this term and they had a boost at the weekend with their 3-0 win over Newport. With seven wins across their 11 matches in this competition Salford have a great record and they’re good value for a win.
Harrogate vs Mansfield
Betting tip: Harrogate to win
Harrogate have won three of their last four games and they’ve yet to taste defeat in League Two this term. Meanwhile, Mansfield are coming into this clash having lost each of their last two games.
Harrogate won one of two at home in their return to the EFL Trophy last term, losing to eventual League One winners Hull. Meanwhile, Mansfield have conceded twice in three of their last four in this competition and we’re backing them to taste defeat here.
