All 5 games come from the Europa League fixtures and here’s how it all went down.
The first leg came in an early kick off as Marseille hosted German side Eintracht Frankfurt in an exciting encounter. quick start from Marseille saw them score with just 3 minutes on the clock to set the acca off to a flyer, we had to wait until the 53rd minute to see Eintracht equalise and land the first leg with plenty of time to spare. The away side went on to win 2-1 after being reduced to 10 men for the final third of the game.
Turkey is the destination for the second leg in another early kick off as Besiktas welcomed Sarpsborg for their first group stage game of the season. Besiktas went into this fixture as odds on favourites but didn’t have it all their way in the first half as they went into the tunnel tied at 0-0. Ryan Babel came on for the hosts early into the second half and scored after just 3 minutes to give Besiktas the lead. They flew into a 3-0 lead by the 82nd minute and Sarpsborg waited until the last kick of the game to give our acca hope with a 94th minute goal.
We head into a goal fest for the next leg of the accumulator as Ludogorets hosted Bayern Leverkusen in a cracking fixture which saw Ludogorets fly into a 2-0 advantage within just 31 minutes of the first group game. Leverkusen wasted no time in getting back into the game pulling one back and landing this leg of the acca just 7 minutes later. The German side went on to win the game 3-2.
The penultimate leg of the accumulator came from the capital of Denmark as Copenhagen faced Zenit. It was the away side who struck first in this encounter with a 43rd minute goal from Robert Man. The home side managed to grab an equaliser in the 63rd minute to take us to our final leg of the 16/1 accumulator.
The final leg saw the clash of the Red Bulls as Leipzig welcomed Salzburg in another goal fest. Salzburg didn’t head into this one as favourites but flew into a 2-0 advantage scoring in the 20th and 22nd minute of the game. Leipzig did everything they can to get back into it and landed our accumulator in the 70th minute. They did go on to lose 3-2 after a 89th minute winner for Salzburg.
