Our weekly bogey teams feature returned with a bang last week as Aaron Rogan tipped up a juicy 18/1 winner on Saturday and this week’s instalment looks just as good!

Some fixtures just seem cursed against one team. Whether it’s a mental block, an unfavourable pitch or something else entirely, these head-t0-head records could offer us a bit of betting insight ahead of the weekend’s fixtures. That certainly proved to be the case last weekend, so finger’s crossed for more of the same this Saturday!

Don’t forget that you can find more analysis in our match predictions section.

19/1 Bogey teams accumulator

Rotherham vs Doncaster Rovers – League One (Sat 25th Aug, 13:00)

Rotherham’s record at home to Doncaster is something to behold, with a 3-2 win in the EFL Trophy back in 2019 making it 13 wins from their last 14 home games against Donnie. That sole failure to win was a goalless draw in 2006 and while The Millers haven’t exactly made a blistering start to the season they are still in better form than their opponents.

Doncaster’s 2-0 loss to Stoke in the EFL Cup on Tuesday made it four games without a win or a goal and they have picked up just one point from their four league outings this season, scoring once and conceding five times.

Betting tip: Rotherham to win

Fulham vs Stoke – Championship (Sat 25th Aug, 15:00)

Past meetings between these sides are relatively evenly split but that all changes when Stoke make the trip down to Craven Cottage. They have lost eight of their last ten trips to Fulham and scored just three goals in the process.

Both teams head into this clash after excellent starts to the season but it’s the Cottagers who have been slightly more impressive, winning four of their five games in all competitions and scoring 12 times. Stoke have also only dropped points once this term, but they have a marginally worse goalscoring record and won’t be relishing the trip down south.

Betting tip: Fulham to win

Middlesbrough vs Blackburn – Championship (Sat 25th Aug, 15:00)

This isn’t one for the neutrals if past meetings are anything to go by. There have been just 16 goals scored in the last 13 ties between Middlesbrough and Blackburn and only one of them has gone over 2.5. A good one for the unders backers then, but our focus is fixed on Blackburn.

Rovers have lost just one of their last 12 meetings with Middlesbrough in the Championship and their last defeat at the Riverside came all the way back in 2012. The visitors have also started the season better than Boro, losing just one of their four outings while Middlesbrough have already lost at home to QPR and have only won one league match. However, with seven of their last 12 encounters ending all square I prefer the double chance market in this situation.

Betting tip: Blackburn double chance

Preston vs Swansea – Championship (Sat 25th Aug, 15:00)

These sides last meet in April and a 1-0 win for Preston – courtesy of a 91st minute own goal – at the Swansea.com Stadium ended a five game unbeaten streak for Swansea against Preston.

Still, the Swans haven’t lost away to Preston since 2011 and have only lost two of their last nine meetings overall. They have only lost one of their last five in all competitions and face a Preston side that have lost three of their six outings in all competitions. Again, it’s a close call so I favour the double chance market.

Betting tip: Swansea double chance

Shrewsbury vs Gillingham – League One (Sat 25th Aug, 15:00)

Another one to chalk down in the double chance column, Gillingham are unbeaten in their last six trips to Shrewsbury and have only lost three of their last 13 meetings home and away.

The visitors also have the form advantage, losing just one of their four League One outings this season and facing a Shrews side rooted to the bottom of the table. The hosts have lost all four games this season and haven’t scored a single goal. A win for The Gills is tempting, but each of their last four trips to Shrewsbury has ended in a draw.

Betting tip: Gillingham double chance

Peterborough vs West Brom – Championship (Sat 25th Aug, 20:00)

West Brom have made a fantastic start to the season following their relegation from the top-flight, winning three of their four games and only dropping points away to Bournemouth on the opening day of the season. If history is anything to go by, they’ll pick up yet another three points at Peterborough on Saturday night.

The Baggies have only lost one of their ten previous meetings with Peterborough and have won six of them, including four of their last five trips to Posh. That single failure to win in that period saw West Brom go on to beat Peterborough on penalties in the FA Cup, so back the Baggies to continue their excellent run here.

Betting tip: West Brom to win
