A lifelong Birmingham City fan, Tom relocated to Germany for five years after graduating from university, where his interest in the Bundesliga developed. He began writing about and betting on German football for FST in 2016. He's also an avid fantasy football player and closely follows the Premier League and European competitions.

On the same night that we landed a huge 47/1 MLB Accumulator + Double winner, our football analyst has joined in the fun with an overnight winner of his own!

The six-fold focused on the MLS and came in at odds of 24/1!!!

The acca kicked off with us needing Philadelphia Union to get at least a point away to New England Revolution – a clash which Union won 6-1 back in May! Things weren’t so straight forward this time around though. New England stood 1-0 up late on after a first half goal from right back Brandon Bye and the clock was ticking. Union were on top of the stats but just couldn’t find a way through… until the 84th minute when Polish striker Kacper Przybylko drew them level with his third of the season!

Next up, we needed to see goals at both ends in the Montreal Impact vs Portland Timbers game. An early one from the hosts got the ball rolling and saw us in good shape – Montreal hadn’t kept a clean sheet in three home games before this after all. Portland, who are in good scoring form, weren’t creating much though, but young Argentian Tomas Conechny didn’t let that stop him as he scored his first MLS goal to land the leg!

Both teams to score was also the name of our fourth and fifth legs in the Toronto FC v Atlanta United and FC Dallas v Vancouver Whitecaps matches. It took just 17 minutes for us to tick the former off our slips, but the latter took a bit longer! We weren’t too concerned as Dallas and Vancouver went 0-0 into HT because both teams had scored in each of the visitors’ last six. However, as Dallas stood 2-0 up in the 80th minute we can’t say we were as confident. Fortunately, in-form man Jose Sema was around to save the day with his second in two games for the Whitecaps!

Meanwhile, DC United were holding onto an early 1-0 lead, courtesy of an absolute cracker from former-Man United man Wayne Rooney. After a defensive clearance, the English legend collected the ball outside the area and spotted Orlando City goalkeeper Brian Rowe off his line before proceeding to find the back of the net from his own half. Definitely worth a watch if you have a minute! DC United saw that scoreline out meaning we just needed the San Jose Earthquakes to get the job done…

Georgian midfielder Valeri Qazaishvili is our hero there. A 22nd-minute goal from him put San Jose 1-0 up against a Houston Dynamo side who had not only lost each of their last five away in the MLS, but also failed to score in their last four on the road too. We didn’t see much pressure from Houston at all and when Qazaishvili scored his second of the game – his fifth goal in three games across all competitions – we knew it was time to celebrate a 24/1 MLS Accumulator win!!!
