We’ve all suffered the heartbreak of a late goal ruining our Saturday accumulator but with our new Bet to the Break feature we aim to have you sitting back and relaxing well before the final whistle.

While it’s still possible to fall to late equalisers in the first-half, statistically it is much less likely. Across Europe’s top-five leagues just 17.7% of goals have been scored in the final 15 minutes before the half-time whistle, compared with some 23% that were scored in the final 15 minutes of the second half.

Below are some of the best (and worst) performing sides in Europe when it comes to first-half results, and you can back them all in a tasty 64/1 acca this Saturday!

Remember, you can check out all our daily football tips here.

64/1 Bet to the Break acca

Liverpool vs Norwich

Half-time result – Liverpool

Liverpool have scored more first-half goals than any other side in the Premier League this season so it’s no surprise to see them leading the way against the relegation-threatened Norwich on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopps side have been leading at the break in 15 of their 24 league games so far and eight of these have come in 11 outings at Anfield. Norwich, meanwhile, have been losing ten times at the halfway point.

Arsenal vs Brentford

Half-time result – Arsenal

Arsenal’s resurgence after their poor start to the season has seen them take a lead into half-time in six of their last eight games and despite that dismal beginning to the campaign they have still managed to be on the winning side in the dressing room in half of their 22 outings.

Brentford’s season has been almost a mirror image of their hosts’ and that goes for the half-time result, too. The Bees have lost more first halves than any other top-flight side (12) and have trailed at the break in each of their last six away games.

Southampton vs Everton

Half-time result – Southampton

Everton’s problems have been well documented this season and a lot of their struggles can be traced back to their status as the Premier League’s slowest starters. They have scored just three first-half goals all season and are rock-bottom of the first-half result table with just 17 points from 22 games.

11 of these matches have ended in defeat, including eight first-half losses in their last 11 and six in their last eight on the road. Southampton, on the other hand, are fifth in the first-half results table with ten wins and ten draws from their 25 matches.

Real Madrid vs Alaves

Half-time result – Real Madrid

Real Madrid and Real Betis are tied at the top of the first-half standings in La Liga with 40 points apiece, with Saturday’s hosts winning ten of their 24 first halves.

Alaves are right down at the other end of the table, picking up a league-low 24 points from a possible 72 in the first half and losing ten times, including five of their last six on the road.

Salernitana vs AC Milan

Half-time result – AC Milan

No other Serie A side has been leading at the break more than AC Milan (14) this season, with only fellow Milanese side Inter equalling that record. This includes five first-half wins in their last seven and six half-time leads in their last nine away games.

Salernitana are bottom of both the half-time and full-time results table, picking up just 15 points from 23 games in the first half and losing 12 of these, including four of their last five at home.

Lens vs Lyon

Half-time result – Lyon

Lyon are matching PSG when it comes to first-half results, with both sides leading at the break in 12 of their 24 games. Four of their last six have seen them take an advantage into the break, as have three of their last five away from home.

Lens have lost the opening 45 minutes on seven occasions this season and have seen the average creep up in recent weeks, going behind before half-time in three of their last four.
