Conference League outright predictions with 7/1 and 25/1 selections

UEFA’s newest club competition is entering its fifth season, with English and Italian sides dominating each of the first four campaigns. While the competition hasn’t been universally accepted, it does offer a more interesting betting heat than the two main European tournaments.
While a Premier League side has reached the semis of every edition of the Conference League, it’s hard to justify backing 5/1 favourites Crystal Palace, who are playing in Europe for the first time.
Second-favourites Fiorentina have fallen short in this competition for three consecutive seasons, so we’re looking past the top two in the betting, with 7/1 and 25/1 selections.
Conference League outright predictions
Strasbourg to win at 7/1
After the difficult summer Palace had, it would certainly sting if they were beaten to the Conference League by Chelsea’s sister side, Strasbourg. The BlueCo club have invested heavily at a time when finances are tight in Ligue 1, which has left them with arguably the strongest squad in the Conference League.
Strasbourg have spent over €100million this summer, while they’ve benefitted from three promising Chelsea loanees. Manager Liam Rosenior is building out an impressive CV, with success in Europe the next step for the former Hull City boss.
While their fans aren’t thrilled about their ownership situation, BlueCo have taken the same approach with Strasbourg as they did with last season’s Conference League winners. Strasbourg have a deep squad, which is packed full of talented, young players. They have a range of attacking options, while they’ll be able to rotate to manage European games on top of their league commitments.
Their early Ligue 1 form has been promising, winning their first two before pushing Champions League side Monaco all the way in a 3-2 away defeat.
Strasbourg have a decent run in the league phase, with Slovan Bratislava their top-seed opponents. The Ligue 1 side will host Crystal Palace in November before travelling to Aberdeen in December.
Knowing Chelsea’s owners, Strasbourg will likely have reinforcements coming in January too, so it’s worth getting them onside now at 7/1.
Sparta Prague each-way at 25/1
The Czech Republic have had a record nine different representatives in the Conference League, with Sparta reaching the knockout stages of the debut campaign.
After making the last 16 of the Europa League in 2024, the Czech side finished 31st in last season’s Champions League standings. Among their defeats in that competition was a 4-2 loss at Feyenoord, who were coached by Sparta’s current boss, Brian Priske.
Priske had mixed returns in the Eredivisie, but his Feyenoord side won four of eight League Phase games alongside drawing 3-3 at Man City. League form cost Priske the job, but he left with a strong reputation in Europe intact.
Priske’s first spell with Sparta included that Europa League run, which saw them beat the likes of Dinamo Zagreb, Real Betis, Rangers, and Galatasaray. He got the Sparta job thanks to his work with Midtjylland, who made the Champions League group stage for their first and only time under his watch in 2020.
Czech sides have seen improved displays in Europe in recent years, leaving them as the ninth-best-performing nation. Sparta won the domestic title in both seasons under Priske, while he’s led them to six wins from seven this term. They look set for another encouraging campaign, so they’re the standout dark horses in the Conference League at 25/1.
