Who to Bench

Liverpool Defenders

Liverpool were pretty terrible in their 3-0 defeat to Watford last weekend and they come up against the Premier League’s top scoring side in Leicester on Saturday. Leicester haven’t failed to score in any match so far this season, so I’m not expecting any clean sheet bonuses at Anfield on Boxing Day.

Graziano Pelle

Southampton have been in shocking form over the past month or so and they host an Arsenal side who are looking fairly good at the back as well as up front. I’m not expecting the hosts to get many chances on Saturday, so Southampton’s prize striker is likely to be out of luck again.

Who to Buy

Dele Alli – Price: 5.2 Million

The young Tottenham Hotspur midfielder has begun the process of proving his doubters wrong recently. He has picked up a couple of goals and assists over the past few weeks and is priced at a bargain 5.2 Million. Spurs host Norwich on Saturday as well, so he cold well bag another goal or two.

Stoke Defenders

Stoke are traditionally very formidable in defence, and they play at home to a Manchester United side who haven’t been impressive in the final third this season. A clean sheet could well be on the cards for the Britannia based team.

Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku

If you haven’t got these players in your side already then you’ve missed out. The two Everton players have a combined 213 points so far this season and are in excellent form. Lukaku has netted 13 times in the Premier League, and if he hasn’t been scoring Barkley has. Everton visit Newcastle on Saturday as well, so there could be a good amount of goals on show.

Jamie Vardy – Price: 7.7 Million

Yes, I’m well aware that over half of the Fantasy Football players have him in their team, but my point here is that he’s listed as doubtful. If we know anything about Jamie Vardy by now, it’s that he’s determined. I’m not expecting a minor hamstring niggle to keep him from playing on Saturday, so don’t bench him!

West Brom Defenders

West Brom may have left their clean sheet speciality behind them in recent weeks but now might be the time for them to get back to it. They visit a Swansea side who have really struggled going forward over the past couple of months, so it wouldn’t surprise me to see a West Brom clean sheet. Craig Dawson only costs 5.1 Million as well!
