Who to Bench

Vincent Kompany

The Manchester City captain came back from injury on Saturday, but unfortunately it was short lived. He limped off shortly after coming on and looks like he’s going to spend another spell on the sidelines.

Manchester United Defenders

The one thing Manchester United have had on their side this season is their solid defence. However, as the players and fans confidence in Louis van Gaal has wavered so has their defensive stability. They have conceded nine goals in their last four outings and play a Chelsea side who managed to get two against Watford on Saturday.

Who to Buy

Mesut Ozil/Olivier Giroud/Theo Walcott

Arsenal disappointed massively on Boxing Day as Southampton thrashed them 4-0. But I think they will bounce back instantly from this and put on a show on Monday. I fancy the in form trio of Ozil, Giroud, and Walcott to bag a good amount of points between them against Bournemouth.

Ashley Williams – Price: 4.8 Million

Swansea may not be in the best form but their defence has been back to it’s best recently. They kept another clean sheet against West Brom on Boxing Day and face a Crystal Palace side who failed to score on Saturday.

Crystal Palace Defenders

Swansea may be on course for a clean sheet against Crystal Palace, but the home side’s defence is well organised as well. They have the joint 2nd best defensive record in the Premier League and Swansea have struggled up front for months.

Nathan Redmond – Price: 5.3 Million

Another bargain. Norwich are out of form but they play at home against bottom of the table Aston Villa on Monday. He has been by far their best player this season and I think he’ll add another few points to his tally of 60.
