Born in the south east of Ireland, Simon put his life-long love of football to good use when he started a successful independent blog in 2010. That opened up an alternative route to a career in journalism, and having had work published across a number of sites and publications, Simon joined the staff at Spotlight Sports Group in 2018.

Following a superb January packed to bursting with big wins, February has kicked off in similar style, and FST followed Saturday’s epic 25/1 Saturday Scorers acca with another cracking 16/1 accumulator success on Sunday.

In our single Spanish leg, a brace each from Mikel Oyarzabal and Alexander Isak allowed Real Sociedad to power to a 4-1 victory against Cadiz in La Liga to help kick our acca off with a bang.

While Real always looked in control in Spain, a little further north in France, Monaco gave our hearts a jump or two in their seven-goal end-to-ender against Nimes in Ligue 1.

Monaco had raced into a 4-2 lead with just minutes to go, but a late effort from the hosts threatened to spoil our party.

In our second foray into French territory, table topping Lille got the job done at Nantes in more routine fashion thanks to a Jonathan David double.

Over in Germany, top four challengers Eintracht Frankfurt did their Champions League qualification chances no harm at all with a resounding 3-1 win at Hoffenheim – a result that left us waiting on one outcome from one of the biggest games in Europe at Anfield….

We backed red-hot Man City to surge to victory against Liverpool on Merseyside, and inspired by the skill of Phil Foden, the Premier League title favourites roared to a magnificent 4-1 triumph, landing our fantastic five-fold in the process!
