Before becoming a Sports Journalist for Free Super Tips, Aaron spent three years studying Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland while taking in the Black Cats' 'glory years' under Martin O'Neill. The first Sunday of 2021 was one to remember for FST followers, as we rounded off the NFL regular season with a storming 65/1 success and picked up another winner on the night’s NBA action.
We had a strong showing across 2020 and the New Year got off to a good start for us with our new shots on target special landing on debut on Friday night to kick off a busy weekend of sport.
With 65/1 and 13/5 winners from Sunday we certainly rounded off the weekend in style. Let’s take a look back at how it all played out.
Last-gasp success for 65/1 NFL Mega Acca

While most of our acca was quite routine, the final two legs really left us waiting as the clock ticked towards Monday. The first game to go down to the wire was the Tennessee Titans win over the Houston Texans, but our +7.5 handicap saw the Texans leg through.
However, it was the late drama in Denver which clinched our tip. We had the LA Raiders to win outright against the Broncos and that looked doomed when the hosts held a seven-point lead with just a couple of minutes to play. However, the Raiders turned it around late to secure a 32-31 win and round off the final leg of our tip.

13/5 NBA Double lands!
- Brooklyn Nets 122-123 Washington Wizards
- Memphis Grizzlies 94-108 LA Lakers
Not long after we had more success to toast, with a 13/5 double success in the NBA. These two games started just after 11pm UK time, with the Wizards carving apart the favoured Nets from the start. We expected the high-scoring Wizards to push this one close, but they actually condemned Brooklyn to another defeat.
Meanwhile, the LA Lakers had a final-quarter surge to come out 14-point winners over the weakened Memphis Grizzlies, more than covering our -9 pick. LeBron James and Anthony Davis combined for 39 points in the victory as the NBA champions continued their hunt for back-to-back titles.
