Born in the south east of Ireland, Simon put his life-long love of football to good use when he started a successful independent blog in 2010. That opened up an alternative route to a career in journalism, and having had work published across a number of sites and publications, Simon joined the staff at Spotlight Sports Group in 2018.

From penalty area poachers to set piece specialists and old-fashioned target men to crafty inside forwards, football’s goal scorers can win games for their teams and bets for punters on any given weekend.

Indeed, the goalscorer markets routinely rank among the bookmakers’ most popular offerings, and in our brand-new Bet to Net feature, we will traverse Europe’s major leagues to find the best anytime, first and multi scorer betting tips from across the continent.

Check out our first Bet to Net selections below, and remember – we have extensive coverage of the weekend’s action over on our match predictions page.

Bet to Net goalscorer predictions for Saturday

Dominic Calvert-Lewin to score anytime @13/10

Everton vs Burnley (Premier League)

Toffees hot-shot Dominic Calvert-Lewin is chasing the Premier League’s Golden Boot this season, and the England international is worth backing to add to his 14-goal haul against Burnley.

Calvert-Lewin has notched in each of Everton’s last two encounters with the Clarets, and having already displayed a knack of finding the net against Sean Dyche’s side, the 23-year-old is one to watch again.

Robert Lewandowski to score 2 or more goals @6/5

Werder Bremen vs Bayern Munich (Bundesliga)

With five goals in his last two Bundesliga appearances, the phenomenally prolific Robert Lewandowski has been in scintillating form for Bayern Munich, and the Bavarians’ talisman has an enviable record in games against Werder Bremen.

Remarkably, Lewandowski has scored at least twice on six separate occasions against Bremen since 2015 and the 32-year-old will have Die Werderaner in his sights again this weekend as he aims to fire Bayern closer to the German title.

Phil Foden to score first @11/2

Fulham vs Manchester City (Premier League)

Phil Foden has broken into double figures for the first time in his career this season, and the increasingly influential schemer has a real habit of chipping at crucial times for the Citizens.

Five of his last nine goals were deadlock-breaking efforts for City, and Foden’s ability to conjure up defining moments for Pep Guardiola’s side makes him a prime candidate to open the scoring again against a dogged Fulham outfit.

Bet to Net goalscorer predictions for Sunday

Sasa Kalajdzic to score anytime @21/20

VfB Stuttgart vs Hoffenheim (Bundesliga)

While Robert Lewandowski and Erling Haaland continue to hog the spotlight in the Bundesliga, 23-year-old Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic has been quietly adding to his reputation in the background.

The Austrian – who has been linked with a move to West Ham – has plundered an impressive seven goals in his last six league appearances and the ex-Admira Wacker starlet can extend his purple patch against Hoffenheim.

Harry Kane to score first @3/1

Arsenal vs Tottenham (Premier League)

Harry Kane rarely fails to produce the goods in the North London Derby, and the Tottenham superstar can shine brightly against his club’s biggest rivals again on Sunday.

He has scored in nine of his last 11 starts against The Gunners and Kane is in fine form after netting a brace against Crystal Palace last weekend, taking his tally to 16 in the Premier League this season.

Kylian Mbappe to score 2 or more goals @11/5

PSG vs Nantes (Ligue 1)

PSG are hunting down top spot in Ligue 1 and the defending champions are expected make mincemeat of second from bottom Nantes in the French capital on Sunday.

World Cup winning wonderkid Kylian Mbappe got his name on the scoresheet in each of PSG’s last three home meetings with Nantes, and his recent haul of eight goals in five matches included two braces and a sensational hattrick.
