Gareth Southgate England Manager

England to win and both teams to score

Was: 7/2

Now: 9/2

England’s showpiece skirmish with Belgium is among the most eye-catching fixtures from Sunday’s Nations League schedule, and the tussle at Wembley has all the ingredients required for a thrilling encounter.

The Three Lions will be determined to prove their worth against one of the world’s most formidable outfits, and England’s eight-match winning streak at home suggests they have the perfect combination of quality and momentum to succeed.

The Belgians have scored for 20 straight competitive games however, and Roberto Martinez’s high-calibre charges look well capable of notching a consolation.

Make sure to check out our England vs Belgium predictions for more exclusive tips.

Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku 5+ shots on target combined

England vs Belgium

Odds: 6/1

With a phenomenal eight goals and seven assists in his last seven appearances at club level for Tottenham, a supremely confident Kane enters England’s clash with Belgium in devastating form, and the ruthless finisher is expected to shoot on sight on Monday.

Romelu Lukaku – who was regularly criticised in his last season in the Premier League – has rebuilt his reputation in Serie A since swapping Man Utd for Inter Milan, and the 27-year-old, who hammed home a record-breaking 27 goals in his last 27 appearances for his country, will be determined to silence his doubters on his return to England.

Expect both of these super star strikers to test the opposition keepers with plenty of attempts at Wembley.

Both Kane and Lukaku also make an appearance in our special feature analysing the five key individual battles that could decide the outcome of England vs Belgium on Sunday.

Antoine Griezmann France

Denmark, France and Italy each to score in the first half

Odds: 7/1

We’ve tipped all three of Denmark, France and Italy to get on the scoresheet in their Sunday fixtures in our Nations League predictions this week, and if the trio of combatants can find the net inside 45 minutes, Virgin Bet will pay out at tasty 7/1 odds.

The Danes, who found the net in 13 of their last 16 matches, travel to take on Iceland in Reykjavik hoping to catch their hosts cold, while a free-scoring France will hope to cut loose at home again when they welcome Portugal to Paris.

Les Bleus bagged a stunning 11 goals in their last two home assignments, six of which were plundered before the half-time interval.

Italy meanwhile, face a tough test in Gdansk against Poland, but having won on each of their last two trips to play the Biało-czerwoni on their own patch, the Italians will fancy their chances of success again.

The Azzurri won an impressive 13 of their last 14 fixtures and scored in the first half of nine of those contests.

John McGinn to score and be shown a card

Scotland vs Slovakia

Odds: 10/1

All-action Scottish midfielder John McGinn is a talismanic player with match-winning potential. The Aston Villa star is the very definition of a box-to-box player, and the 25-year-old provides the teams he represents with a valuable mix of combative and cultured skill.

McGinn has already got off the mark for Aston Villa in the Premier League season, though the tenacious tackler also picked up two yellow cards in his three starts in the division so far.

For Scotland, McGinn was also carded as recently as Thursday in the Scots’ tense play-off meeting with Israel, and we think there is every chance the ex-Hibernian starlet will be a protagonist worth watching against Slovakia on Sunday.

Limited Availability. 90 mins only. ‘Was’ price correct as of 12:00pm on October 10th 2020. Max bet £20. Singles only. Prices subject to fluctuation. For full rules & exclusions click here. Bet Responsibly. BeGambleAware.org. 18+
