More Golf Profit Achieved at the Irish Open!

With golf betting, we’d all like to be picking winners each week, but the reality is that it is easier said than done.

Look at the PGA Tour in recent weeks/months, where the likes of Jim Herman, Brian Stuard and James Hahn have all won at a starting price of 350/1 or greater.

Happily we have backed one huge winner this season, 100/1 shot Haotong Li, but unfortunately these do not come along very often.

There is, of course, more than one way to skin a cat and the beauty of each-way betting enables us to accumulate handy profit even when our picks don’t enter the winner’s enclosure. And that is exactly what happened at the Irish Open last weekend.

£135 Profit

Our 30/1 hope, Russell Knox, led the field with three to play but couldn’t quite get the job done in the midst of a majestic onslaught from eventual champion Rory McIlroy. But we banked a return for the Scot’s second place finish.

Then our 50/1 hope Martin Kaymer, who had enjoyed a topsy-turvy week, smashed the course to bits on Sunday; firing a round of -6 for a share of fifth place. More profit guaranteed, thanks Martin.

And finally, our 70/1 shot in the dark, Tyrell Hatton, held firm with four good rounds to also finish in a share of fifth; our third slice of profit accumulation.

All in all, we trousered £135 clear profit from our three £5 each-way wagers, which shows that golf betting isn’t necessarily all about finding winners. Onwards and upwards we go!
