Hotshots Accumulator: Huge 339/1 week-long goalscorer tip!

Before becoming a Sports Journalist for Free Super Tips, Aaron spent three years studying Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland while taking in the Black Cats' 'glory years' under Martin O'Neill. Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.

The Champions League group stage gets underway on Tuesday, with midweek European action bridging the Monday Night Football and next weekend’s busy slate of domestic games.

With some massive encounters spread across the next seven days, I’ve cast an eye across the biggest games to target seven players who look good for a goal.

You can find out 339/1 Hotshots Accumulator below, with all seven selections picked out through bet365. New bet365 customers can sign up for an account through the link below and claim £30 in free bets!

Monday – Taiwo Awoniyi to score against Burnley

Awoniyi wasn’t able to get on the scoresheet against Chelsea last time out, ending his run of scoring in seven straight Premier League games. The Nottingham Forest forward did strike for Nigeria during the international break, while he has scored nine times across his last eight league appearances.

The forward can continue his fine form on Monday when Forest host Burnley. The Clarets have conceded 11 times in their first three games of the season and with their defence looking that vulnerable, Awoniyi should get plenty of chances.

Tuesday – Olivier Giroud to score against Newcastle

Newcastle made it into the Champions League based on an excellent defensive record last term, but that’s fallen away this season. The Magpies have conceded in four of their last five games, with Evan Ferguson and Darwin Nunez giving them trouble in recent games.

Olivier Giroud may not be quite as mobile as those two, but the Frenchman has made a brilliant start to the season. He’s scored four goals in four games for Milan, while he notched five goals in seven Champions League matches last year. He’s still proving a threat at the top level and the World Cup winner should be able to exploit the Magpies’ defence in their European return.

Wednesday – Harry Kane to score against Man United

Given how little hassle Brighton had at Old Trafford on Saturday, Bayern Munich look set to blow them away in their midweek Champions League clash. Wednesday’s meeting thrusts Harry Kane back into English football’s focus if he ever really left it.

Kane has excelled in his early weeks in Munich, scoring in three of his first four Bundesliga games. The England captain moved to Bayern to go all the way in the Champions League, so back him to impress in his return to the competition.

Thursday – Cody Gakpo to score against LASK

Liverpool are likely to make changes for their Europa League opener, but Cody Gakpo has been a fairly regular starter under Jurgen Klopp. The Dutchman has also just started a purple patch of form, scoring in three straight games for club and country.

Gakpo found the net in both of the Netherlands’ recent internationals before his goal at Wolves on Saturday. The Dutchman scored three times in five games in this competition for PSV last term and he should prove too good for LASK.

Friday – Folarin Balogun to score against Nice

Balogun scored his first goal for Monaco at the weekend, having found the net for the USA during the international break. The American looks like a great addition for the principality club, as he scored 21 times in Ligue 1 for Reims last term.

Monaco have been flying in the league, scoring 15 times in their five league games. They’re creating plenty of chances and Balogun should thrive leading the line there, so he’s a great anytime scorer option.

Saturday – Bryan Mbeumo to score against Everton

With Toney still out, Brentford continue to look to Mbeumo as their main goal threat. The Bees drew a blank at Newcastle last weekend, but a home clash with Everton should bring about a change in fortunes.

The Toffees have conceded six times across visits to Aston Villa and Sheffield United, so they should struggle at Brentford. Mbeumo has scored four times in five games so far including strikes at home to Tottenham and Bournemouth, so back him to score.

Sunday – Kylian Mbappe to score against Marseille

It’s fair to say that Kylian Mbappe won his brief power struggle with PSG. Not only did he stay at the club and strongarm them into potentially giving him a wage bump, but he’s emerged as the sole star following the departures of Lionel Messi and Neymar.

All it took was an opening game 0-0 draw to usher Mbappe back into the starting lineup in Paris. He’s been in stellar form since, scoring in all four Ligue 1 games and netting twice in each of his last three.

Mbappe has now scored in 11 of his last 12 appearances in Ligue 1 and he’s central to everything under Luis Enrique. PSG are dominating possession and they’re teeing up Mbappe frequently, so back him to continue his brilliant form against Marseille.
