Ligue 1 2025/26 outright predictions including 12/1 & 25/1 tips

Paris Saint-Germain are once again heavy favourites to retain their Ligue 1 title with little by way of realistic challengers on the horizon.
Behind PSG are a handful of teams with little to choose between them, and taking the European Champions out of the equation sees a highly competitive battle to be the best of the rest.
With only three teams guaranteed a spot in the Champions League group phase and a fourth entering the qualification rounds, a top-three spot is all-important.
With Luis Enrique’s side seemingly well ahead of the chasing pack, we must look elsewhere for value.
Ligue 1 outright predictions
Monaco to win outright without PSG
Just five points separated second and fifth last season, and another tightly contested race for the Champions League spots is expected again this campaign.
Marseille claimed second place last time out, finishing four points ahead of third-placed Monaco. However, after some shrewd transfer business, the Monegasques could overturn that deficit and win a competitive battle for second spot.
Monaco have moved quickly in the window and brought in Ansu Fati on loan from Barcelona and permanently signed experienced pair Eric Dier and Paul Pogba. Dier joins fresh from an 18-month stint in the Bundesliga, where he played an important role in reclaiming the league title with Bayern Munich. Whilst Pogba is returning to football following a doping ban and will no doubt have much to prove following his absence from the game. Both join without transfer fees, meaning Monaco still have some room to further strengthen.
Marseille’s standout transfer activity so far is the signing of England international Angel Gomes from Lille but the loss of Luis Henrique to Inter Milan is a significant blow to Roberto De Zerbi’s team.
Given the early signs, Monaco to finish as runners-up could offer value in what should once again be a tightly packed race behind PSG.
Strasbourg to finish in the top three
While many Ligue 1 clubs are cutting back and offloading their best players, Strasbourg have the biggest transfer outlay so far. Chelsea’s owners BlueCo haven’t received a warm welcome from the Strasbourg support, but they’ve backed the club in the transfer market while moving some promising young players over on loan.
Former Hull boss Liam Rosenior led Strasbourg to seventh in Ligue 1 last term. Given they have spent over €100million on top of adding three talented Chelsea loanees, the club look too big at 12/1 to finish in the top three.
Emanuel Emegha to be top goalscorer
Strasbourg’s chances are boosted by forward Emegha, who has the chance to take another huge step forward this term. He scored 14 goals for the club last season, but he led the league in terms of Expected Goals generated with 17.0.
Emegha took a huge step forward in terms of getting into good positions, while he almost doubled his scoring tally year-on-year. The 22-year-old has plenty of room for improvement, so back him at 25/1 to factor into the top scorer race.
