Born in the south east of Ireland, Simon put his life-long love of football to good use when he started a successful independent blog in 2010. That opened up an alternative route to a career in journalism, and having had work published across a number of sites and publications, Simon joined the staff at Spotlight Sports Group in 2018.

On Monday evening at Old Trafford, a Manchester United descending into a deepening crisis entertain an Arsenal team in the midst of a rich vein of goalscoring form.

With a lengthening injury list and an increasingly agitated fanbase, Man Utd can ill afford another early season setback on Monday, though Ole Gunnar Solskjaer side have shown little of late to suggest that an upswing in results is forthcoming.

Arsenal have had their own ups and downs this season, though they make the trek north from the capital armed with a five-match unbeaten run, and a healthy goal return of 16 from that quintet of games.

Monday’s clash in Manchester already looks like a pivotal fixture for both clubs, and that should in turn open up a wide range of betting options and markets to explore for the game.

Over at bet365, their Bet Builder service allows you to combine many of those markets to create a unique bet, and we’ve picked out a range of selections from Monday’s skirmish between Man Utd and Arsenal, that we think are well worth considering for your slip this week.

Check them out below.

Don’t forget – You can also take a look at all of our other predictions and betting tips for the weekend’s action on our Premier League prediction page.

What is bet365’s Bet Builder?

Bet Builder allows you create the bet YOU want on any football match. You can choose from a list of the most popular markets and once you have added them to your bet, you can calculate the odds from your customised selection.

For example, you could combine first goalscorer, both teams to score, the total number of corners and the full-time result to create one single bet with the price for your multi-part selection.

You can add up to 6 separate markets to your Bet Builder selection, and your odds will update automatically each time you add a new selection.

Once you are finished and happy with your selections, select the price displayed on the Bet Builder slip and your unique bet will be added to your bet slip.

Manchester United vs Arsenal Bet Builder Tips

Arsenal Pierre Emerick Aubameyang

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to score anytime

In the absence of Man Utd’s Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, as well as his Arsenal teammate Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will be the most threatening attacking player on show on Monday evening by a considerable distance.

The 30-year old striker has already hit six goals in six Premier League appearances for the Gunners since the summer, and Aubameyang is currently on a run of five goals in four matches in all competitions.

Aubameyang also made a goal-scoring impact in each of Arsenal’s last two meetings with United, and the Gabonese international has the quality and know-how to make his mark again on Monday.

Granit Xhaka to get booked

Swiss midfield enforcer Granit Xhaka was officially named as Arsenal club captain this week, and the 27-year old will be keen to make an impression when he leads the Gunners out for the first time in his new official capacity on Monday.

Xhaka is already Arsenal’s most cautioned player this season, picking up three yellow cards in just five Premier League starts since August, and no other Gunners player comes close to matching the anchorman’s average fouls committed per game stat (2.6) for 2019/20 so far.

Xhaka has already picked up a yellow card once in his career at Old Trafford, and we think his desire to lead, combined with his already notorious aggressive streak, makes him well worth considering in the bookings market again this week.

Under 11 corners

Manchester United’s attacking output has been frustratingly underwhelming this season, and the low corner count in their Preemie league matches highlights just how little action supporters are witnessing in their fixtures this term.

An average of just nine corners were awarded to both teams combined in United’s Premier League matches so far in 2019/20 – a figure that places them bottom of the pile in the division for that metric.

The average corner count in Arsenal’s games (11.5) has been considerably higher, though it’s worth noting that just 7.66 corners were won by both teams in the Gunners’ three meetings with United in league and cup last season.

You can find new corners predictions for Premier League’s televised games every week on our Premier League action in our cards and corners betting tips page.

Over 2 cards for both teams combined

Manchester United’s tussles with Arsenal are among the most keenly contested fixtures in the Premier League, a fact that’s reflected in the noticeably high card count in games between them in recent seasons.

In their trio of frenetic meetings in the Premier League and FA Cup in 2019/20, an average of 5.33 cards were picked up by the players involved.

Amassing cards and cautions is something that Arsenal have become accustomed to in general. This season, the Gunners are statically the Premier League’s dirtiest team, having collected 17 yellows and one red card since early August.

It’s also worth noting that Man Utd are the most fouled Premier League team so far this term. Their players have been challenged illegally 14 times on average per 90 minutes this season.

With the league’s most prolific hatchet-men meeting the division’s most hacked at team at Old Trafford, it makes sense to expect a high-card count in Manchester on Monday.

Arsenal to win

The Gunners haven’t won on any of their last 12 Premier League trips to play United at the Theatre of Dreams, though our experts detail whey they think everything is in place for that record to end in their predictions for Man Utd’s tussle with Arsenal on Monday in their match preview.

Arsenal were beaten only once in eight competitive matches since the start of the new season, and their only conquerors were a title-chasing and table topping Liverpool team that have swept aside all in their path this term.

In contrast, United can barely put a team on the field at present, and their lifeless defeat at West Ham in their last Premier League outing shone an unflattering light on just how short on options and quality they are right now.

Arsenal won’t ever have a better chance of winning at Old Trafford, and we think they have enough threat in attack to take the points.
