Market Movers: 54/1 accumulator featuring Tuesday’s best backed teams

Born in the south east of Ireland, Simon put his life-long love of football to good use when he started a successful independent blog in 2010. That opened up an alternative route to a career in journalism, and having had work published across a number of sites and publications, Simon joined the staff at Spotlight Sports Group in 2018.

Odds commonly fluctuate in the build up to any set of fixtures as punters start to wield their knowledge and place bets ahead of kick-off.

Anything from late team news to changing weather patterns can impact the odds in the run up to a game, and as the money builds on certain outcomes, prices start to shorten.

The wisdom of the crowd is a very real phenomenon, and in our weekly Market Movers feature we take advantage of the changing trends by bringing you the best backed teams of the day.

Tuesday’s selections are plucked from the lower tiers of the English football pyramid and we’ve combined our market movers tips in to a huge 33/1 accumulator.

Tuesday’s Market Movers Acca

Barnet vs Halifax (National League) – 19:00

Halifax to win at 17/20

Halifax should welcome key duo, striker Jake Hyde and midfielder Danny Williams, back to the fold for their trip to play bottom club Barnet, and The Shaymen look favourites to gather the points as a result.

Hyde got in on the act when Halifax thumped Barnet 5-2 in December, and with their hosts in the midst of a dismal seven-match losing streak, Town can roar to victory again.

Tranmere vs Stevenage (League Two) – 19:00

Tranmere to win at 19/20

A six-game winning streak has thrust Tranmere firmly into the League Two title conversation, and Rovers are capable of maintaining their push towards the summit at Stevenage’s expense at Prenton Park.

Rovers’ star striker James Vaughan has scored six times in his last five league appearances and the ex-Everton starlet can rattle a Stevenage defence missing the experience of injured stalwart Scott Cuthbert.

Scunthorpe vs Bradford City (League Two) – 19:00

Scunthorpe to win at 19/10

Scunthorpe are in red-hot form following a three-game winning surge and with creative trio Ryan Loft, Abo Eisa and Devarn Green displaying some devastating chemistry in the final third, another victory looks possible against Bradford City.

The Bantams look set to be without a trio of important attacking players at Glanford Park, with Lee Novak’s absence confirmed and doubts over the availability of Billy Clarke and Danny Rowe.

Bristol Rovers vs Oxford (League One) – 19:00

Oxford  to win at 5/6

Rovers boss Paul Tisdale has a selection headache in midfield to contend with ahead of the Pirates clash with Oxford. Josh Barrett, Abu Ogogo and Ed Upson are all likely to be absent for varying reasons, and in-form Yellows could take advantage of their host’s soft centre.

Oxford have a clean bill of health for Tuesday’s game, and having beaten Rovers 2-0 in routine fashion just last month, more points look on offer for the playoff hopefuls.

Altringham vs Wrexham (National League) – 19:45

Altrincham to win at 15/8

Playoff hopefuls Wrexham have won just once in five games, and on Tuesday, the Red Dragons will be without first choice keeper Robert Lainton, skipper Shaun Pearson, and top marksman Adi Yussuf, whose loan from Chesterfield expired on Deadline Day.

Altrincham meanwhile climbed up to 5th spot following a three-game winning run, and The Robins should have enough momentum to beat Wrexham for the second time this season.
