NBA outrights - 60/1, 12/1, 11/2 tips for the 2025-26 season

The new NBA season gets underway and it could be a fascinating campaign, after some significant trading during the close season. We’ve drafted in Racing Post tipster Warren Ashurst for his tips ahead of the new season and he’s picked out three selections, including a 60/1 MVP shot.

NBA Outright Winner Prediction

Houston Rockets to win at 12/1 with bet365

The biggest statement move of the summer saw Kevin Durant join his fifth NBA franchise, after being traded to the Houston Rockets.

The Rockets finished second in the Western Conference last season, before losing a seven-game thriller with the Golden State Warriors in round one of the play-offs.

An addition of the quality of KD should propel Houston to serious title contenders, with the 37-year-old’s decision to move to Texas a strong indication that he believes he can secure a third NBA ring.

The two-time NBA Finals MVP, who averaged 26.6 points per game last term for a Phoenix team that failed to make the play-offs, gave up a considerable amount of a $120million salary he was eligible for.

Despite losing Fred VanVleet to a long-term injury, coach Ime Udoka can now look forward to teaming Durant up with the likes of Turkish center Alperen Sengun, who averaged 19.1 points per game last season.

NBA Eastern Conference Winner Prediction

Orlando Magic to win the Eastern Conference at 11/2 with bet365

The progress of the Orlando Magic has been slow and steady in recent years, but the 2025-26 campaign could see them shoot to the top of the East.

After a three-season stretch without play-off action, Jamahl Mosley’s men have reached the first round in the last two terms – losing to the Celtics last season.

The Magic have finished fifth and seventh in the last two years, but their close-season trading is likely to see them challenge for top spot in their Conference.

Orlando’s big post-season capture is Desmond Bane from the Memphis Grizzlies, who averaged 19.2 points and 6.1 rebounds per game in 2024-25.

The shooting guard will team up with Small forward Franz Wagner, who caught the eye for Orlando last season. The German had a 24.2 point average in his 60 appearances.

NBA Regular Season MVP Prediction

Jalen Brunson to be the Regular Season MVP at 60/1 with bet365

We have had three different Regular Season MVPs in the last three years and there could be a new name added to the list in 2026.

It’s no surprise to see the likes of Nikola Jokic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Luka Doncic at the top of the betting but there looks to be some real value below that trio.

The New York Knicks may not have been making any noticeable trades in the off-season, they have been focused on keep together the squad that got them to the Eastern Conference Finals last season.

That includes Jalen Brunson, who finished inside the top-10 of the regular season points scorers last season.

The Knicks’ Point guard, who has made the All-Star team in the last two years, averaged 26.0 points and 7.3 assists per game

A two-time NCAA champion, Brunson will feel this is the year New York can end their 52-year wait for an NBA title and looks a generous price of 60/1 to be named the Regular Season MVP.
