  • FA Cup: Quarter-finals
  • EFL Cup: Second round
  • Top scorer: Justin Kluivert & Antoine Semenyo (13)

Season review

Andoni Iraola’s second season in charge at Bournemouth proved to be a successful one, although the campaign promised a lot more than it actually delivered.

The Cherries appeared to have a genuine chance to claim some silverware after reaching the last eight of the FA Cup but they fell short against Manchester City.

Bournemouth also looked capable of securing European football for the first time in their history as they spent 13 weeks inside the top eight from December through to the end February before their form tailed off.

Ultimately, it wasn’t to be for Bournemouth as they ended the season in ninth but they did at least improve on the previous campaign – finishing eight points and three places better off than they did in 2023/24.

Key stat: Bournemouth enjoyed an 11-game unbeaten run in the league between November 30 and February 1, their longest unbeaten streak in the Premier League

Transfer window preview

Bournemouth will have funds available for a few additions this summer following defender Dean Huijsen’s £50million move to Real Madrid.

Replacing the Dutch-born Spain international will be a priority and they may need a few defensive reinforcements as Milos Kerkez continues to be linked with Premier League champions Liverpool.

Former Celtic forward Kyogo Furuhashi, currently with French side Rennes, is a rumoured target for the Cherries. Rennes left-back Adrien Truffert is another reported target, presumably as a replacement for Kerkez if the Hungarian does make the move to Anfield.

Iraola’s priority will be keeping his squad largely intact after a successful season and adding quality wherever he can.

One area that needs to be resolved is in goal, as Kepa Arrizabalaga was the first choice last season on a loan deal from Chelsea and it remains unclear as to whether or not the club will pursue a permanent move for the Spaniard.
