There is a huge buzz surrounding darts and that is being fuelled by the rise of Luke Littler. The 17-year-old made the final on his debut in PDC World Championship earlier this year and the Nuke followed that up by winning the Bahrain Darts Masters and finishing runner-up in the Dutch Darts Masters.

Premier League Darts outright winner prediction – Luke Littler at 3/1
It took an inspired Michael van Gerwen to stop Littler in the final of the Dutch World Series event and it’s a measure of the 17-year-old’s talent and progress that he is now a shorter price to win the Premier League than the great MVG.
Luke Humphries remains the market leader and the 3/1 on offer about Littler is an interesting price.
If the Nuke can continue to produce the level of darts that he has shown since he burst into life on the Alexandra Palace stage then that would look a very big price.
The question mark is can the Warrington arrowsmith maintain something like his peak over the course of a 17-week Premier League season.
What we do know is that the Nuke has the beating of any of the eight-strong field at his peak, he doesn’t wilt on the big stage and uncertainty doesn’t have to be viewed as a negative.
There is a strong chance that Littler could be looking like a 6/4 chance for Premier League glory in three or four weeks time, and at 3/1, the 17-year-old is worth backing.
6/1 Premier League Darts week one acca
- Rob Cross to beat Peter Wright (DNB)
- Gerwyn Price to beat Nathan Aspinall (DNB)
- Michael Smith most 180s v Michael van Gerwen
- Luke Littler to beat Luke Humphires (DNB)
Luke Littler’s invasion of planet darts has taken the spotlight off the struggles of Peter Wright. Snakebite failed to win a match at the World Championships, the Scot was crushed 6-2 by Kevin Doets in the first-round of the Dutch Darts Masters last week and Rob Cross is likely to prove far too good.
Nathan Aspinall was another player who struggled in Den Bosch and the Asp was hammered 6-2 by Danny Noppert in round one. Gerwyn Price keeps running into Littler, but the coast is clear in the first-round in Cardiff and the Iceman should freeze out Aspinall.
Michael Smith and Michael van Gerwen are two players struggling for consistency, but MVG did find something like his best to win the Dutch Darts Masters. The Green Machine is certainly the most likely winner of this Cardiff contest, but Smith remains a more frequent maximum hitter and Bully Boy should have Van Gerwen covered in that department.
Luke Littler’s clash with Luke Humphries promises to be a cracking contest and it’s a game that the Nuke can win. The 17-year-old got the better of Cool Hand Luke, with a five-point higher average, in the Dutch Darts Masters last week and a repeat can be expected in Cardiff.
