Kevin De Bruyne to have 50+ shots on target at 200/1

Manchester City ace Kevin De Bruyne struggled a bit with injury last season, amassing only 25 appearances in the Premier League and just over 22 90 minutes.

Despite this relative inaction, the Belgian hit the target 26 times and averaged 1.2 shots on target per 90 minutes. Should he manage to avoid injury and play the majority of the season that should put him at just over 40 shots on target throughout the season.

Odds of 200/1 for one of the world’s best players to outperform expectations by under 20% looks very good value indeed.

Bruno Fernandes to have 50+ shots on target at 9/1

Only Harry Kane (53) and Mohamed Salah (52) tested the keeper more times than Bruno Fernandes in the Premier League last season and you can back him at 9/1 to repeat that feat in the coming campaign.

That was an average of 1.15 shots on target per 90 minutes, and he’s hardly a one-season-wonder, either. The Manchester United midfielder has averaged over one shot on target per 90 minutes in every season since 2016/17 and with the Red Devils leaning heavily on the 26-year-old he’s all but certain to play the majority of games.

Harry Maguire & John Stones each to have 10+ headed shots on target at 17/2

Harry Maguire had a surprisingly large 36 attempts on goal for Manchester United last season and as you would expect the vast majority (29) of these came from his head. Ten of his 36 shots hit the target and it wouldn’t be a surprise for him to reach double figures from headed attempts this season, either.

John Stones has a slightly lower total of five shots on target last season but the England international only made 22 Premier League appearances. He’s a firm favourite alongside Ruben Dias now, though, so expect his appearances to increase in 2021/22 and his tally of seven headed shots to increase with it.

Tomas Soucek to have 15+ headed shots on target at 13/2

Rangy midfielder Tomas Soucek was a revelation for an impressive West Ham last season as he registered ten goals in 38 appearances. These ten goals came from 64 shots in total and his late runs into the box afforded him plenty of opportunity to get his head on the ball.

In fact, 31 of his 64 shots were headed and 36% of his attempts hit the target, so a tally of 15 headed shots on target doesn’t seem unreasonable.

Patrick Bamford to have 40+ shots on target at 10/11

Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford was one of just six Premier League players to test the keeper more than 40 times last season and his average of 1.33 shots on target per 90 minutes last season was his lowest of his three campaigns with Leeds.

Should he maintain that average he would only need to play 31 full matches to reach the 40 shots on target mark, so he’s well worth backing.
