Scottish Premiership outright predictions

Rangers wrestled the Scottish title off old rivals Celtic last season and the advice this time around is to back Steven Gerrard’s men to retain the crown. After finishing up 25 points clear of Celtic there’s little sign that Rangers should be worried about their Glasgow rivals overtaking them anytime soon.

Scottish Premiership top goalscorer predictions

Kyogo Furuhashi is the pick for us in the top scorer stakes in Scotland, with the 16/1 shot looking like a promising signing as Celtic try to get themselves back on track after a trophyless season. Meanwhile, there could be trouble at the bottom of the table for Livingston.

Sunday 1st August

English League 2 predictions

Next up is the EFL, which gets underway in less than a week. We’re kicking off our English football outrights by looking at League Two, as sides battle to avoid the National League and to climb into the third tier. Salford – led by the class of ’92 – look to be the side to watch this term.

Monday 2nd August

English League 1 predictions

Onto the middle division in the EFL which is arguably the most competitive of the three this term. There are a lot of playoff contenders but only three promotion slots to go around. With last term clearing away some of the usual strugglers and seeing four strong League Two sides win promotion expect a quality campaign in League One.

Tuesday 3rd August

COMPLIANT - Bournemouth in the FA Cup

English Championship winners and promotion predictions

Onto the Championship, where we’ve had a good record in recent years. We backed Norwich for the title last term and they delivered in the end, following an impressive single season in the second tier. This term will be another hard-fought campaign but will any of the three relegated sides bounce straight back? See our outright predictions for our thoughts!

English Championship relegation predictions

Last term we called two of the three relegated sides in the Championship and we weren’t far off a clean sweep with Birmingham struggling. We also successfully called that Barnsley wouldn’t struggle as we backed them as the top Yorkshire side before their playoff run.

Wednesday 4th August

English Championship top scorer predictions

Our final Championship outrights article is our top goalscorer selections, which have played out quite well in recent seasons. I backed a 6/1 winner in 2019/20 in Aleksandar Mitrovic, with the other two selections finishing in the top six. Both Teemu Pukki and Adam Armstrong were each-way winners last term, so don’t miss our top scorer picks!

France Ligue 1 predictions

Of Europe’s major leagues France is the first to return to action, so we’ll have all you need to know about the upcoming Ligue 1 campaign the Wednesday before it gets underway. Will this season bring another Lille-sized surprise? Given PSG’s relentless summer signings it’s going to take a lot to stop them.

Saturday 7th August

Premier League winners & top four predictions

Less than a week before it returns the Premier League takes centre-stage as we select our winners and selections in the top four race. We called Man City as the side to beat last term so keep an eye out for our 21/22 selections as what appears to be a Big Seven battle it out for the top four.

Sunday 8th August

Harry Kane Tottenham

Premier League relegation predictions

Later on Saturday we’ll also be posting our relegation selections in the Premier League, having landed two of our three selections last season. There’s uncertainty this season at Crystal Palace, a tall order for the three newcomers and the usual doom and gloom at St James’ Park, but who will be relegated?

Monday 9th August

FST’s big Premier League preview part one

The Premier League content keeps on coming as we take a look at all 20 sides and evaluate their hopes for the coming season. Both of our team-by-team previews drop on Monday, with Arsenal to Leicester up first followed by Liverpool to Wolves.

Tuesday 10th August

FST’s big Premier League preview part two

FST’s Premier League full table prediction

Finally in the Premier League we try to predict May’s final table as we release our 1-20 selections in England’s top-flight. Three days before the season gets underway make sure to check out our place-by-place rundown of the 20/21 season.

Premier League top scorer predictions (plus competition specials)

We’re not done there for Premier League action, as we’ve got top scorer odds and all the rest of our selections for the campaign to come. With plenty of star strikers in the Premier League the battle for the golden boot will be a tough one, while there are plenty of other markets to examine as we take a deeper look at team’s fortunes for the coming season.

Wednesday 11th August

Spain La Liga predictions

Later that day our attention shifts back to Europe’s top leagues, with the first port of call being the tumultuous La Liga. Atletico Madrid claimed a shock title win last season and with financial troubles plaguing Barcelona and Real Madrid could we be in for a successful defence from Madrid’s other club?

Germany Bundesliga predictions

We finish the day off in Germany as Bayern Munich begin their defence of yet another Bundesliga title. Can Borussia Dortmund or RB Leipzig come close to stopping Die Bayern claiming a tenth German title in a row?

Monday 19th August

Romelu Lukaku Inter Milan

Italy Serie A predictions

Serie A is the last of Europe’s major leagues to get started, so it’s one of our final season preview articles. It’s one worth waiting for, with plenty of seismic changes in Italy. Max Allegri is back at Juventus, Simone Inzaghi replaces Antonio Conte at champions Inter and Jose Mourinho has pitched up at Roma. The conservative Portuguese will share the capital with his polar opposite as Lazio have appointed former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri.

Still to come

Early Champions League predictions

Early Europa League predictions

We aren’t just covering Europe’s biggest leagues, as we’ll have outright predictions for the biggest prizes in Europe later this summer too. A year ago we landed a massive 57/1 Champions League group stage accumulator and we’re looking to continue that form in UEFA’s biggest competitions this term.
