Gaethje vs Pimblett prediction and fight preview
Paddy Pimblett to win by submission
Paddy Pimblett takes on Justin Gaethje in the headline bout of the UFC 324 card for the interim lightweight title at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
With current champion Ilia Topuria absent through personal issues, the interim belt is up for grabs and the winner should be in line to take on Topuria further down the line.
Britain’s Pimblett, 31, is unbeaten after seven UFC fights, with five wins within the distance.
Pimblett’s last three wins have come against veterans King Green, Tony Ferguson and, most recently, former Bellator champion Michael Chandler, who he stopped in the third round.
Gaethje is another opponent in the latter stages of his career. The 37-year-old is a former interim champion who has failed twice at becoming a full title holder, losing by submission to both Khabib Nurmagomedov and Charles Oliveira.
Gaethje, dubbed the “the Human Highlight Reel”, and Pimblett are both likely to bring chaos to the Octagon and ultimately that may favour the Liverpudlian when taking into account the respective stages of each fighter’s career.
Gaethje has the edge in striking but Pimblett is the stronger grappler and his submission threat could prove decisive.

Sean O’Malley to win vs Song Yadong
In the co-main event, former Bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley should have too much for Song Yadong as he looks to respond to back-to-back losses to Merab Dvalishvili.
Song pulled off a career-best win over Henry Cejudo in his last bout, but the style clash should suit O’Malley.
Under 1.5 rounds – Waldo Cortes-Acosta vs Derrick Lewis
The featured bout on the main card is a heavyweight match-up between Waldo Cortes-Acosta (16-2-0) and Derrek Lewis (29-12-0).
Cortes-Acosta fought five times last year with a 4-1 record, securing three knockout wins.
Lewis has 30 UFC fights to his name and 10 of his last 11 have finished early, a run of six wins and five defeats.
Whoever wins this one, it is unlikely to reach the second half of the fight as these two big-hitters collide.
