St Louis Cardinals vs Milwaukee Brewers Predictions
The St Louis Cardinals won’t be too unhappy to see the Milwaukee Brewers again after sweeping them in a three-game set a little over one week ago. They’ve got a four-game advantage in the NL Central division and three or four wins over the Brewers in this series would go a long way to locking up the title.
On the mound tonight, Michael Wacha looks to break out of their latest funk. At one stage, he was an outsider name in the Cy Young award running, but he’s lost two of his last three starts and he owns a pretty lofty ERA against the Brewers too.
Milwaukee has one of their better pitchers starting tonight. Taylor Jungmann is 9-6 with a 3.31 ERA on the season, but he’s also experienced a tougher stretch towards the back end of the season posting a .920 ERA over his last three starts.
His biggest challenge on Thursday might be keeping Matt Carpenter quiet after St Louis’ middle order hitter struck two home runs on Wednesday.
Three Reasons for Betting Tips
1. Wacha snaps out of it
We look at the tools and pitches that he possesses, we look at his record and we trust that he’ll find one way or another to snap out of his slight hiccup over the last couple of weeks. Look for Wacha to bounce back with a vengeance on Thursday night.
2. Cardinals’ hitting
They’ve found a little rhythm late here and we think that they’ll tee off against Jungmann tonight. This looks like a good match-up for St Louis.
3. Game Total betting tip
We like the Game Total Under 7.5 Runs line here because we are expecting a near shut out performance from Michael Wacha.
