Celtic 3-1

Reason for tip

Aberdeen were well beaten at Celtic Park, but both games at Pittodrie were closer with the result in doubt right to the end. The Dons may decide to take the contest to Celtic after discovering that a passive approach did not work when the sides last met. Goals should be expected and with Celtic bagging three in each of their last four outings a 3-1 win can be anticipated.

Dons and Hoops head to Hampden

Aberdeen can play their part in making Saturday’s Scottish Cup semi-final against Celtic a memorable Hampden Park occasion.

Peter Leven’s side have had a dismal campaign in all but the domestic cups as their current position of ninth in the Premiership standings and solitary Europa Conference League group-stage win indicates.

But the Dons did run Rangers close on their last trip to Hampden in December and will take heart from a couple of home performances against the Hoops at Pittodrie.

Celtic flying high after crucial derby draw

Celtic are flying high after earning a crucial 3-3 draw at Ibrox in this month’s Old Firm Derby. Brendan Rodgers’ men followed that up with a 3-0 win over St Mirren and now sit four points clear of the Light Blues atop the league standings.

League form is unlikely to play much of a part in Saturday’s showdown with Aberdeen using their latest couple of matches as tune-ups for this all-or-nothing clash. Bojan Miovski, who scored in August’s 2-1 home defeat to Celtic and February’s 1-1 draw, has the ability to cause the champions a few problems, although the Dons’ defence may still struggle to contain the Hoops’ hitmen.

Backing over 3.5 goals in this clash could turn profit as at least four goals have been scored in four of the clubs’ last five meetings and five of Celtic’s last eight outings in all competitions.
