Dons can continue fine run

Aberdeen look the best bet when they host Dundee United in the New Firm derby at Pittodrie on Saturday.

They are two places above Dundee United in the table, but just three points separate the two sides. Sixth-placed Aberdeen have won seven of their 17 games this season, while eighth-placed United have won four.

There have been no issues with scoring for Aberdeen in their recent games. They have found the net in 11 consecutive league matches, including a 4-0 win over Dundee in October, and have scored at least twice in three of their last four Premiership games.

Aberdeen are in good form, having won four of their last six Premiership matches. They have lost just one of their last seven home games in the league and have only tasted defeat once in their last ten home games against Dundee United.

Dundee United have won one of their 11 games as an underdog this season, and backing them in those matches would have resulted in a 4.50-unit loss.

The visitors could do with turning things around. Dundee United have failed to win any of their last six Premiership away games and have only won one of their last nine league matches.

They are looking vulnerable at the back, with Dundee United failing to keep a clean sheet in 17 of their last 20 Premiership games, and in their last six away matches.

A 2-1 home win is the correct-score pick. Dundee United have been in some low-scoring games of late – four of the last six have gone under 2.5 goals – but there were four goals in their clash with Rangers three weeks ago, when they drew 2-2, and five of Aberdeen’s seven Premiership victories this season have been by one goal.
