Cremonese vs Fiorentina Predictions
- Fiorentina have won eight games in a row across all competitions.
- The Viola have won four of their last five matches to nil, including their last three in Serie A.
- Cremonese have gone four games without a win, losing three times in that run.
- The hosts have only scored 23 times in 28 league games all season.
Viola run arrives at perfect time
Fiorentina still have two opportunities to win their first trophy since 2001 this term, with their Coppa Italia semi-final against Cremonese to be followed by a Europa Conference League last-eight tie. Vincenzo Italiano’s men have won eight successive matches in all competitions, a run which could hardly have been better timed. On Wednesday, the Viola visit a Cremonese team they have already beaten twice this term, and they will be confident of putting one foot in the Italian cup final.
The Viola claimed a memorable 1-0 win over Inter Milan at San Siro on Saturday, meaning they have beaten both Milan sides within the last month. Fiorentina are now unbeaten in 10 games, winning nine, while they have also benefitted from a defensive upturn in recent weeks. Italiano’s men have won four of their last five matches to nil, including their last three in Serie A, and they claimed a 2-0 league win on this ground just three weeks ago.
Cremonese, on the other hand, have gone four games without a win since they upset Roma last month, losing three times during that run. Davide Ballardini’s men were well beaten by Atalanta on Saturday, and they have now lost six of their last seven matches on home soil – three of them without scoring. The hosts have only scored 23 times in their 28 league games this campaign – including just eight in 14 contests on their own turf.
Fiorentina set for cup triumph
While Fiorentina have earned plaudits for their positive style under Italiano, only four teams have conceded fewer goals in Serie A this season, and their backline has only been breached once in their last five domestic games.
With that in mind, we’re backing Fiorentina to beat their impotent hosts to nil, while a repeat of last month’s 2-0 victory at the Stadio Giovanni Zini could represent a solid correct score prediction.
