Dons can secure another win

Aberdeen have won their last two Premiership home games and they should be backed to get the better of Dundee United in the New Firm derby at Pittodrie on Saturday.

Dundee United are seventh in the league, one place above eighth-placed Aberdeen, but both teams have lost more games than they’ve won this season. The visitors have ten wins and 12 defeats, while the hosts have ten wins and 18 losses.

Aberdeen will fancy their chances of scoring here. They have averaged 2.38 goals a game in their eight Premiership home games against other bottom-half teams this season.

Dundee United’s current form is underwhelming, with five defeats in their last seven Premiership away games. They have failed to win any of their last four on the road.

The visitors have looked vulnerable in defence, conceding on each of their last 15 Premiership road trips. Dundee United have been disappointing away from home this season, shipping 35 goals in 17 games – an average of 2.06 goals per game.

A 1-0 win for Aberdeen looks the best correct-score option. Five of their ten league victories this season have come by that scoreline and, with 23 of their 35 Premiership matches going under 2.5 goals, a narrow win at home is the most likely outcome.
