Aberdeen vs Hamilton Predictions
- Aberdeen have failed to keep a clean sheet in six of their eight games so far at Pittodrie.
- Hamilton are winless since September and are yet to win any of their eight games on the road.
- The Dons have scored over 1.5 goals in their last three home ties.
Solid Dons creeping back up the table
Aberdeen return to Pittodrie for the first time after being handed their first defeat in the Premiership since October, when they were beaten by Celtic in the Granite City. The Dons are now looking to make it four games without losing on home turf, despite their most recent setback against Hibernian.
The club did well in the weeks after losing at home to Celtic, with Derek McInnes’ side scoring a cool seven goals in just three games, while also only conceding three goals in their previous two.
But the Dons have struggled to keep sides from scoring against them, as they’ve only kept a clean sheet in two of their eight home ties.
Accies winless since September
Hamilton extended their winless run in the league to a whopping 10 games and have failed to pick up three points since beating Livingston at the end of September. Moreover, the Accies have failed to win a single match away from home.
Brian Rice’s side are also one of the poorest in defence on the road, with the South Lanarkshire club letting in 17 goals so far for an average of 2.13 goals per game.
Hamilton have also done poorly in front of goal, netting a measly seven goals on the road, failing to score in 50% of their eight matches away from home.
No hope for the visitors
Aberdeen’s last game at Pittodrie ended with a 2-2 draw against Rangers and the hosts come into this game with the intention of extending their unbeaten home run against a weakened Hamilton side that are yet to pick up three points on the road.
We’re going to back over 1.5 team goals for Aberdeen, as McInnes’ side have scored at least twice in their last trio of fixtures, while Hamilton have also conceded at least twice in four of their previous five matches on the road.
We’re also going for a final score of 2-1 to the hosts, as they continue struggling to keep a clean sheet at Pittodrie – doing so twice all season. Their visitors have scored at least once in three of their last four outings.
