AC Milan vs Lecce Predictions

Lecce unlikely to trouble Rossoneri

AC Milan passed a serious test of their Scudetto credentials on Thursday by becoming the first side to beat Como at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia in Serie A this season and they should be able to follow that up with a comfortable win over Lecce on Sunday.

The Rossoneri lost their opening league game of the season but have avoided defeat in 19 games since, winning 12. Milan sit just three points adrift of pacesetters and city rivals Inter going into this round of fixtures and they can at least avoid falling further behind by beating Lecce, who are winless in four (D1, L4).

The best angle here is probably backing Milan to win without conceding. Massimiliano Allegri’s side have three clean sheets in their last five home games and have shipped just 16 goals in 20 league games, while Lecce have failed to score in four of their last six games and have struggled for goals on their travels all season with just six in nine trips.

Defensively Lecce haven’t been too bad, however, as they’ve conceded a respectable 28 goals across their 20 league games – only one other team outside of the top nine have conceded few goals. Taking that into account, a routine 2-0 win for Milan seems a reasonable correct score prediction.

Frenchman Adrien Rabiot scored twice at Como in what was arguably his best performance since swapping Marseille for the San Siro. Rabiot has been putting in consistently solid displays lately with assists against both Verona and Cagliari. He also scored against Torino in December and he appeals as a bit of an outside option to grab an anytime effort.
