Swiss can extend perfect start in Luzern

Switzerland entertain Slovenia in the Nations League on Saturday and the best bet looks to be backing the hosts to win without conceding at Thermoplan Arena in Luzern.

The Swiss dropped down from League A in the last Nations League cycle but are well placed for an immediate return to the top level. Switzerland have beaten both North Macedonia and Scotland 3-0 in their opening two games, although they did play against 10 men for the majority of the match in their clash with the latter.

Slovenia were held to a 0-0 draw by the Scots and then beat North Macedonia 2-0 at home. They tend to struggle on their travels with just one win in their last six trips, losing three, and they’ve also failed to score in three of those games.

Murat Yakin’s side won 3-0 when these sides met in World Cup qualifying last year on Swiss soil and they also kept a clean sheet in the reverse fixture, drawing 0-0 in Ljubljana. Switzerland have been solid at the back in general with four shut-outs in their last five games and they can overcome the visitors and keep a shut-out in the process.

As Switzerland have won their last two games 3-0 and they beat Slovenia by that scoreline on home soil last year, a 3-0 home win seems an obvious correct score pick. Burnley’s Zeki Amdouni has impressed in attack for the hosts with three goals in two games. Amdouni also hit two goals in his final three games for the Clarets prior to the international break and he stands out as a contender for an anytime effort.
