Poland can get off the mark

Poland can claim their first Nations League victory of the campaign when they host Romania on Friday.

The hosts opened with a goalless draw against Bosnia-Herzegovina before suffering a 3-1 defeat away to Sweden on Monday. Despite that setback, they now return home for a considerably more favourable assignment.

Romania have endured a difficult start to the group, losing 2-1 in Sweden before being beaten 4-2 at home by Bosnia-Herzegovina. They have therefore conceded six goals across their opening two matches and are still searching for their first point.

Poland were unable to break down Bosnia in their opening home game, but they should find more opportunities against a Romania defence that has already looked vulnerable. They’ve enjoyed success against the Romanians in the past, winning their last three matches with them.
