AC Milan vs Liverpool Predictions
- Liverpool have won three of their four games this season.
- AC Milan lost both meetings with Liverpool in the 2021/22 Champions League campaign
- AC Milan have only won one of their four games this term.
Rossoneri find their feet
AC Milan got their season up and running on Saturday with an emphatic 4-0 win over Venezia, but they may struggle to follow that up as they get their Champions League campaign underway against Liverpool on Tuesday.
Prior to their victory over Venezia, AC Milan had taken just two points from three Serie A games and had shown some serious defensive issues, conceding multiple goals in each of their opening three games.
Reds target quick response
Liverpool suffered their first setback of the Arne Slot era in their weekend fixture, losing 1-0 at Anfield to Nottingham Forest, but they can bounce back at the San Siro on Saturday.
The Reds were perhaps unfortunate to lose that game, winning the shot count 14-5 and generating 0.9 expected goals to Forest’s 0.4. However, there is no denying that performance was a far cry from the one that saw them dismantle Manchester United before the international break, and Slot will be eager to get them back on track quickly here.
Salah to strike at San Siro
The visitors had won all three games prior to Saturday’s defeat and Callum Hudson-Odoi’s goal was the first time they had conceded under Slot. They can take three points in this new-look Champions League opener, although another clean sheet may be beyond them.
AC Milan have scored nine goals in four games this term, so a repeat of Liverpool’s last trip to the San Siro – a 2-1 win in December 2021 – looks a good correct score bet.
Mohamed Salah had three shots, two of which hit the target, against Nottingham Forest and scored in each of Liverpool’s first three games this season. He scored home and away against Milan in 2021 and can hit the net on Tuesday.
