There might not be too much action when Derry City host Waterford at Brandywell Stadium on Friday and the recommended bet is to go under the goals. Five of the last seven of Derry City’s Premier Division games have gone under 2.5 goals.

Derry City are second in the league, six places and ten points above Waterford. The hosts have won 11, drawn four and lost seven of their 22 games, while Waterford have eight wins, three draws and 11 defeats.

Derry City have been winners in six of the last eight home meetings with Waterford in the Premier Division, and beat Drogheda 3-0 last Friday in their most recent home game. However, Waterford have won the last two head-to-heads between the teams.

Derry City to win 1-0 looks a decent correct-score choice. Waterford won the last Premier Division clash 2-1 but at least one of the teams blanked in six of the previous eight, and Waterford have sustained two 1-0 defeats in a row.
