      Accrington Stanley vs Blackpool Predictions

4th from bottom League One strugglers Accrington Stanley are in dire need of some points as they attempt to lift the gloom after a poor start to the season.

However, they should find life difficult this weekend against a Blackpool side that have been a tough nut to crack on their travels this term.

Accy have been working hard to improve their fortunes of late, and after losing four and drawing one of their first five matches of the new season, Stanley have steadied themselves, losing just once in five since.

Their recent performances at the Crown Ground have been cause for optimism, with wins over good Milton Keynes and Fleetwood Town sides secured inside their last trio of fixtures on home turf.

While Accy’s results at home have been mixed overall this season, goals have been produced in consistently high numbers in their fixtures on their own patch.

Over 2.5 goals were scored in 100% of Accrington Stanley’s five competitive home games so far this season, and both teams also registered in each of those five contests.

On Saturday, a Blackpool team that has scored at least once in all but one of their five competitive away matches this term arrive at the Crown Ground, and everything points to them hitting the net again this weekend.

Remarkably, eight of Blackpool’s last ten away matches in league and cup saw over 2.5 goals scored, and we expect to see that total to be past with relative comfort again on Saturday.

In fact, wherever you look, there are statistics that suggest that Saturday’s game will be a high-scoring affair  – Accrington Stanley scored two goals in three of their last home games, while Blackpool hit the net at least twice in three of their five away matches.

With the aforementioned factors and figures considered, we think backing the over 2.5 goals and both teams to score combination is a smart move for Saturday’s fixtures, though we also expect Blackpool to come out on the right side of the result.

Blackpool are unbeaten in four of their five away games since the summer, and their only defeat came in 2-3 reverse at League One leaders Coventry City.

In addition, The Tangerines beat Accrington Stanley (2-1 & 3-2) in each of their last two encounters with them, and with a glut of goals likely in their latest meeting on Saturday, our correct score prediction forecasts a 3-2 for Blackpool.
