AFC Bournemouth and Both Teams To Score
Reasoning
AFC Bournemouth vs Aston Villa Predictions
- Villa have won only seven of their 17 away Premier League fixtures this term.
- Ten of 14 meetings between these two have seen both teams score.
- Villa have scored more than once in only one of their last four away fixtures – at relegated Southampton.
Cherries look the pick of a lively encounter
Bournemouth and Aston Villa are chasing European qualification for next term and a lively encounter is predicted at the Vitality Stadium this weekend.
The Cherries start this round of Premier League fixtures in eighth spot with Villa just ahead of them in seventh, and both sides have shown decent form in the closing weeks of the campaign.
However, Aston Villa have two of their last three matches and they were well beaten by Crystal Palace at Wembley in their FA Cup semi-final last month.
Unai Emery’s men bounced back to win 1-0 at home to Fulham last weekend but most of their best work has been done at Villa Park this season and they are fancied to come up short once again on the road.
Villa have won only seven of their 17 away league fixtures and there signs that their hectic schedule is starting to take its toll.
A long run in the FA Cup has been accompanied by progression to the Champions League quarter-finals, but Bournemouth, in contrast, have had only league matters to look after sine the end of March.
Extra energy in the legs of the home side could prove a big advantage and the Cherries are predicted to come out on top in game in which both teams score.
Brazilian to maintain his hot streak
Ten of the 14 meetings between these two have seen both teams gets on the scoresheet, so we predict a Bournemouth win with goals at both ends.
But there may be a case that Villa manage only one, as they have struggled in recent weeks to trouble home defences.
Emery’s outfit have scored more than once in only one of their last four away fixtures, and that came on a trip to Southampton who have long been relegated.
Bournemouth are a tougher nut to crack and should the home side get their noses in front, a comfortable home win could follow, so a 3-1 victory is our prediction, with Brazilian forward Evanilson fancied to get on the scoresheet for the south-coast club once again.
Evanilson scored a late equaliser in the 1-1 draw between these in October and he is on ten league goals for the season following a burst of eight goals in his last 13 matches in all competitions.
The Cherries are an aggressive front-foot outfit and the Brazilian could make the most of that once again this weekend.
