St Mirren vs Dunfermline Predictions
- St Mirren were handed a walkover win at the weekend after a Dumbarton player tested positive for coronavirus.
- Dunfermline Athletic beat Partick Thistle 4-2 in their Group H opener.
Returning fans could be in for a treat
St Mirren got to put their feet up at the weekend when their opening League Cup tie could not be played.
The Buddies were handed a walkover win over a Covid-hit Dumbarton side and will now look to add another three points at home to Championship side Dunfermline Athletic.
St Mirren will welcome 500 fans back into The SMISA Stadium for the first time in 16 months and there have been plenty of positives from their pre-season so far.
Jim Goodwin’s men got a good 3-0 win over Linfield in Belfast with both strikers Eamonn Brophy and Lee Erwin on the scoresheet.
The visit of the Pars could be an attractive affair with Peter Grant’s side having started their League Cup campaign in fine fashion with a 4-2 win at Partick Thistle.
Reports suggest the hosts had plenty of chances and a reversal of the scoreline could easily have been the outcome.
The Pars have won their last four aways in this competition and scored plenty of goals while the Buddies beat Aberdeen (2-1) and Rangers (3-2) at home in the League Cup last term.
It all suggests a high-scoring contest could be on the cards for the lucky 500 on Tuesday and we are recommending a bet on Over 3.5 goals for the game.
It may even be worth a small tickle on the visitors to prevail 3-1 as they should be closer to full match sharpness than the hosts who were idle at the weekend.
