AFC Wimbledon to Win and Over 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

AFC Wimbledon have won four of their last five home FA Cup ties and their last four at home overall. They should be far too strong for Ramsgate, who have never before beaten Football League opponents in the cup. There should be a few goals in the game too with at least three goals scored in 12 of Ramsgate’s 13 cup games so far this season.

4/7odds when tipped

AFC Wimbledon 3-1

Reason for tip

Wimbledon have scored an average of three goals per game across their last five at The Cherry Red Records Stadium, but clean sheets have been evading them in general this season with only two shut outs from 13 home games in total. Ramsgate have scored an average of close to three goals per game this season and can bag at least once, despite the big gap in quality they face.

AFC Wimbledon vs Ramsgate FC Predictions

  • AFC Wimbledon have won four of their last five home FA Cup ties
  • Ramsgate have never before beaten Football League opponents in the cup
  • At least three goals have been scored in 12 of Ramsgate’s 13 cup games this season

Dons’ home form should see them through

AFC Wimbledon have a proud cup tradition and should not let this opportunity to be in the hat for the 3rd round draw slip when they entertain non-league Ramsgate on Monday night.

Johnnie Jackson’s side have plenty to play for this season, but a strong side is anticipated for this live TV clash.

The Dons will want to get back to winning ways after last Saturday’s 1-0 reverse at Gillingham left them three points and three places outside the playoff positions.

Wimbledon have won their last four home games in all competitions and four of their last five home FA Cup ties too.

Ramsgate’s cup games have been full of goals

Ramsgate bring some good away form into this, but they have never before beaten a Football League side in the cup.

The Kent club, who are top of the Isthmian League South East Division, are about to embark on their eighth FA Cup tie.

They have been scoring plenty of goals this season with 12 of their 13 previous cup games having gone over the 2.5 goal-mark.

The signs point to an entertaining game with a few goals, but the League Two side should come out on top come the final whistle.
