AIK can pile pressure on strugglers Varbergs

AIK Stockholm have hit a bit of a rough patch in form with just one win in their last five games but Saturday’s home game against Varbergs looks like a good opportunity to return to winning ways.

AIK picked up three wins in their first four games but two defeats, two draws and one win in their last five has seen them drop down to fifth in the Allsvenskan.

AIK have drawn their last two home games having won their first three matches at the Friends Arena.  The Stockholm club fought back from 2-1 down to draw 2-2 with Mjallby in their last home game and prior to that they fought back to draw 1-1 with title challengers Malmo.

Varbergs sit second from bottom and have just eight points to show from nine games so far.  The visitors have picked up recently with four of their points coming in their last three games, but they have lost their last two away games and with three defeats in their last six games overall they could be heading for another loss on Saturday.

Varbergs have only failed to score in one of their nine games this season but as all three of AIK’s home wins this term have been to nil we think 2-0 has a chance in the correct score market.
