Albacete vs Granada Predictions

Having finished just five points above the drop-zone last season, Albacete would’ve been hoping to do better this season, and that is exactly what they’ve done. With just four games remaining, Monday’s hosts are almost guaranteed a place in the play-offs, though given their proximity to the automatic places, they’ll be hungry for more. A win here would see Luis Miguel Ramis’ men draw level with Monday’s opponents, who’re currently in 2nd place.

Albacete are in a promising league position, though their recent efforts haven’t been great. Last time out, they narrowly beat Rayo Majadahonda, but given that they created 1.75 expected goals for and shipped 3.07, it’s not difficult to say that they were fortunate. Against a side of Granada’s quality, they’ll need to do better.

Fortunately, Ramis’ men, who are yet to taste defeat at home this season, have been extremely tough to beat at Estadio Carlos Belmonte. They’ve made light work of both scoring goals and keeping teams at bay, as they’ve notched 28 and have conceded only 14 in 19 homes matches.

While Albacete have done well at home, Granada have been one of the divisions’ best travelling sides. Monday’s visitors have won eight of their 19 travelling matches, while they’ve scored a pleasing 22 goals in the process. Interestingly only Albacete have scored more goals and won more games than Granada on the road this season.

Like Albacete, Granada are tough to beat. They’ve only lost one of their last seven travelling matches, so they’ll fancy themselves to avoid defeat at Estadio Carlos Belmonte. After all, a draw is all they really need, as it would mean that they go into the final three games with a three-point advantage (and a better goal difference) over Monday’s hosts.

From a betting point of view, ‘Both Teams to Score – NO’ stands out as a viable option. When we look at both the home efforts of Albacete and the away efforts of Granada, defensive solidity is what stands out the most. The hosts have surrendered an average of just 0.78 goals at home, while the visitors have surrendered an average of only 0.79 on the road. Add in the fact that the pair average a combined 1.95 expected goals in their respective home and away games and backing at least one to falter in front of goal on Monday makes plenty of appeal.
