      Albania vs Ukraine Predictions

Albania are gearing up for an historic moment on Saturday the 11th June. They will line up against Switzerland as they play their first ever match in a major tournament finals after they successfully qualified for Euro 2016.

They outdid Denmark, Serbia, and Armenia in the qualification phase to finish 2nd in Group I with 14 points from their eight games, two more than 3rd placed Denmark but seven adrift of Portugal at the top.

Whatever happens in France, this can be considered a massive achievement for Albania, but they will be hoping to put in a good showing as well. They beat Qatar 3-1 in a friendly match on Sunday to make it three wins, one draw, and one defeat in their last five matches. Now they will look to beat another team ready to take to French turf: Ukraine.

Ukraine kick their Euro 2016 campaign off in the hardest way possible: A match against World Champions Germany. However, they are in good form having won four and drawn one of their last five matches.

One of these victories came against Slovenia as they played their two legged Euro 2016 playoff tie after finishing 3rd in Group C. Spain and Slovakia both topped the 20 point mark and left 19 point Ukraine needing a playoff to secure their position in the championships.

Ukraine are in decent form coming into the tournament though. They have won eight of their last 11 matches and lost just one. They will need to be at their best though as they go into a group with Germany, Poland, and Northern Ireland.

Albania have lost to Portugal and Serbia at home recently, but generally they have looked decent. They have won three of their last six at home and scored in nine of their last 12, including five goals in their last two home matches.

Ukraine conceded three against the goalshy Romania on Sunday, although they did also manage to net four against one of the most organised defences in that part of the world. However, the visitors have only kept two clean sheets in their last six trips away and looked very dodgy at the back on Sunday. This makes odds of 23/20 for Both Teams to Score look very good value to me, so I’m backing that along with a 1-1 draw at 11/2.
