Andorra vs France Predictions
It’s been a predictably poor start to qualifying for Andorra, who’ve lost each of their first three matches in Group H, though they have at least managed to avoid major embarrassment, as they’ve lost 2-0, 3-0 and 1-0. Gaining their first win of the campaign against France is massively unlikely, though the hosts will be hoping to register their first goal.
As anyone who has seen World Cup and EURO qualifying in recent years will know, Andorra are a hugely limited side. They lack forward quality, while their aim in almost every game is to avoid getting hammered, which is something that they’ve done this time around.
Given that they are very much the minnows, the fact that Andorra have only conceded six goals in three Group H games is respectable. They restricted Iceland to only two goals, while they were perhaps unlucky to concede three against Albania, as they restricted their opponents to 2.03 expected goals. Last time out against Moldova, the Andorrans were unfortunate to lose, as they bettered their opponents both in terms of shots and expected goals.
In contrast, France were not unlucky last time out, not even slightly. After two easy wins, Didier Deschamps men were complacent against Turkey and they paid the price. Unfortunately for Tuesday’s hosts, the world champions are likely to be fired up after tasting defeat last time out.
From a betting point of view, this is anything but a game to get excited about. France will almost definitely get the job done without getting out of second gear, though supporting the visitors at the prices is simply not worth it.
One bet that does stand out as slightly overpriced is ‘Both Teams to Score’. Andorra are yet to score in qualifying, though they did show signs of life on the break against Albania, which bodes well ahead of a game where France will leave lots of space in behind.
What’s more, as good as the world champions can be, they do tend to be slightly sloppy against very weak opposition. Deschamps’ men recently conceded against Moldova, who they presented with more than one solid counter-attacking chance, while they also conceded against the likes of both Luxembourg and Belarus in qualifying for the 2018 World Cup.
