Rennes can see off Angers again

Rennes have lost on just one of their last nine Ligue 1 visits to Angers and they are worth backing to get another win at Stade Raymond Kopa on Sunday. It’s now seven games since Angers last won at home in the league.

Rennes finished sixth in Ligue 1 last season, with 59 points from 17 wins, eight draws and nine losses, while Angers ended up 13th with 36 points, having won nine games, drawn nine and lost 16.

Rennes beat Le Mans 3-2 last weekend, with Esteban Lepaul grabbing two goals, including the opener in the fifth minute. Valentin Rongier also netted for Rennes, who justified their price of 4/11 to win the game.

The hosts’ struggles in front of goal are a concern. Angers have failed to score in five of their last seven home games in Ligue 1.

Rennes have been solid favourites lately, winning their last four Ligue 1 games in which they were odds-on.

The hosts’ form at home has been disappointing, with just one win in Angers’ last ten Ligue 1 matches.

The hosts are having defensive problems. Angers have been unable to keep their opponents at bay in eight straight Ligue 1 games and it’s been four home games since they last kept out their opponents.

Rennes to win away 2-0 looks a decent correct-score bet. No team had fewer overs games in Ligue 1 than Angers last term, and they suffered four 2-0 defeats in the league.
