Millwall Double Chance (Win or Draw)

Reason for tip

Middlesbrough have been nervy on their own patch and their promotion bid could be harmed again by the Lions, who are strong on the road and capable of getting something from their trip to the Riverside.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Millwall battled well to claim a 1-1 draw at promotion rivals Ipswich last week and Boro drew by the same score in recent home matches against Bristol City and Leicester, so a repeat could be on the cards.

Middlesbrough vs Millwall Predictions

  • Middlesbrough have failed to win their last four home matches.
  • Millwall’s only away defeat in their last eight games came at Championship leaders Coventry.
  • Five of Middlesbrough’s last seven matches have featured fewer than three goals.

Boro faltering on own patch

Middlesbrough have allowed Coventry to establish a firm grip in the race for the Championship title with the Sky Blues heading into Easter with a nine-point lead, and there is a danger Boro will be overhauled in the fight for the second automatic-promotion spot.

Millwall will go above them if they win at the Riverside on Good Friday and the signs are strong that the Londoners will put on a strong performance with Boro nervy after four home games without a win.

They have drawn with Oxford, Leicester and Bristol City and lost to Charlton, all of whom are in the bottom nine in the table, so their fans are perhaps right to be concerned.

Lions have roared on the road

The Lions are maintaining their push despite the setback of a 2-1 defeat to Blackburn in their last home match.

They recovered well to draw 1-1 at Ipswich, who themselves have promotion ambitions and Frank Lampard’s leaders are the only team to have beaten Alex Neil’s side in their last eight on the road.

Wins at Wrexham, Sheffield Wednesday, Preston and Hull since the beginning of February have boosted confidence and there is enough in the Millwall-or-draw-double-chance market to offer some value with a 1-1 draw of potential interest to correct-score punters.

No only was that the score they attained at Portman Road before the international break, but it was also the final score in Boro’s games against Bristol City and Leicester.
