Antwerp vs Olympiacos Predictions
- Four of Antwerp’s Europa League games this year have included three or more goals
- Only one of Olympiacos’s last six games in European competitions have contained fewer than three goals
- Antwerp have only one won of their last ten games in Europe
Antwerp’s European Struggles
Back in Belgium, Antwerp continue to be a force to be reckoned with, sitting in second place in the First Division A Table. They are seriously struggling to convert that form in Europe though.
Brian Priske’s side have only kept one clean sheet in their last 11 matches in the Europa League, and even that was against Cypriot minnows Omonoia Nicosia.
They score plenty at the other end, netting in 14 of their last 19 ties in European Football, with three or more goals coming in seven of their last nine games in the competition, so I expect goals again in this one.
Olympiacos Gunning For Top Spot
Unlike Antwerp, who cannot qualify for the knock-out stages having picked up just two points so far, the Greeks are already through and can finish in top spot in Group D if they win and Frankfurt lose.
Pedro Martins’ side have scored in their last eleven Europa League ties, while six of their seven games in the competition this season have included three or more goals.
They do have a slight tendency to struggle on the road, winning just three of their last eleven away matches in European competition, so they might not got over the line in this one.
However, goals look extremely likely, so I predict 3+ goals in the game, with a correct score prediction of 2-2.
