Arbroath vs Hamilton Predictions
- Arbroath have won four of their last five Championship matches.
- Hamilton have lost nine of their 19 Championship games this term.
- Arbroath beat Hamilton 4-0 at home in September
Smokies on fire at the moment
Arbroath looked good against Dunfermline on Boxing Day and should be able to dispatch Hamilton on Tuesday, although probably not as convincingly as they did back in September
The Smokies spanked the Accies 4-0 that day with the visitors’ chances of a comeback exiting when defender Jamie Hamilton received his marching orders with around 20 minutes to go.
Arbroath are unbeaten in the league since October and showed why they are top of the table in outclassing the Pars at their place a few days ago. They are well organised in defence but, unlike many other teams at this level, have forwards who can create something out of nothing and some quality in midfield too.
Accies too inconsistent to support
They should have enough to outscore an inconsistent Hamilton side that sit below half-way in the table after 19 games. The Accies have lost too many games to be in the promotion mix and must now focus on avoiding any slip into relegation trouble.
A 3-2 home defeat to Kilmarnock, who finished with ten men, was a dismal outcome for them on Boxing Day. It was the eighth time this season that they have conceded multiple times at home and their defensive record away is not much better.
A simple home win bet should prove profitable here with thoughts on both teams to score valid considering Hamilton have scored at six of their nine road venues this term. But the 4-0 at Gayfield Park in September is a warning that Arbroath have smothered them already, so we will select a 2-0 home win for the hosts.
