Argentina vs Peru Predictions
- Argentina have lost just two of their last 58 matches in all competitions
- Peru have won just three of their 32 meetings with Argentina
- Argentina have kept clean sheets in five of their last seven matches, and in each of their last four meetings with Peru
- Lautaro Martinez has scored four goals in his last three outings for Argentina
World champions looking ominous
Argentina are the first nation to have booked their place in the knockout stages of the Copa America and their so-far flawless campaign can continue with a comfortable win over Peru.
The world champions have eased past Chile and Canada to top Group A, and we predict another victory with a clean sheet for La Albiceleste.
Only Uruguay and Saudi Arabia have beaten Argentina in their last 58 outings, and they are red-hot favourites to continue their dominance over Peru.
Peru haven’t beaten the reigning Copa champions since 1997 and it is difficult to see them breaking their duck on Sunday.
The White & Reds have lost both matches at this tournament without scoring, and another defeat to nil is our prediction for this match.
Martinez to maintain hot streak
Lautaro Martinez has had a season to remember having helped Inter to the Serie A title and he looks determined to help his country to Copa America glory, too.
Martinez has scored in both games at these finals and we predict another goal for the in-form marksman.
It’s four goals in his last three outings for his country, and although Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni may look to rotate his side with qualification sealed, Martinez should still play a part in this final group match.
He only needs once chance to score and he should get opportunities against such weak opposition, even if his game time is limited.
