Defences to come under the spotlight

Arouca comes into this one after being held to a 0-0 draw away to Pacos de Ferreira last Sunday. They will be looking to move clear of the relegation zone but they have struggled for form recently and that last game is an all too familiar story, they dominated the game but were unable to claim victory despite the opponents being down to ten men.
Armando Evangelista’s side has failed to win any of their last seven, losing four and picking up three draws.

The visitors’ excellent run of results recently came to an end in their last match as they were handed a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Champions League competing Porto.
Before that, Pako Ayestaran’s team were on a three-match winning streak.
Tondela has picked up nine points from their opening nine games and it means they’re firmly in the lower half of the table, largely down to their defensive vulnerabilities as they possess one of the worst records in the league after conceding 17 goals so far.

Not conceding has proved problematic for both of these sides and as a result, they will both give chances to one another throughout the course of the match.
