      Arsenal vs Hull Predictions

Arsenal are coming into this game just a few days before a crucial Champions League match against Barcelona, but Wenger will be keen to become the first manager to win three FA Cups in a row in well over 100 years. He is likely to rest a few players though, but his youngsters generally perform very well when they’re given a cup runout. The Gunners will be high on confidence after snatching a late winner against Leicester to blow open the Premier League title race, and they have won three of their last four matches in all competitions.

Hull are in the midst of a battle for the Championship top spot, and currently hold a two point lead over Middlesbrough at the top of the table, but the 2nd place side have a game in hand on Hull. The visitors have won three of their last five matches in all competitions but did lose away to Burnley at the start of the month, and they will probably be disheartened by the fact that they haven’t beaten Arsenal in any of their last ten matches against them. Chuba Akpom, the player who netted a hat trick in the FA Cup 4th Round, is ineligible as well due to his parent club being Arsenal.

      Reasons for Betting Tips

Arsene Wenger often fields a couple of youngsters for his cup ties and I’m not expecting anything different for this one either. Joel Campbell has been regularly used in the cups this season and has impressed with his direct running and pace, and he could pose a difficult challenge for the Hull defence. Danny Welbeck is likely to start his first game since his return from injury as well, and he will already be on a high after his last gasp winner against Leicester at the weekend. Arsenal have managed to net twice in three of their last four matches and, as the statistics show, have scored two or more goals against Hull in each of their last ten meetings.

Both teams will be preoccupied with their respective title challenges, but Arsenal have the strength in depth to still field a very talented squad of players. Hull will be desperate to maintain their Championship promotion push and I think we could see a few fringe players making an appearance on Saturday.

However, the likely absences of Laurent Koscielny, Kieran Gibbs, and Gabriel Paulista mean that Hull could find a way through the Arsenal defence, so a 3-1 correct score prediction at 12/1 sounds excellent to me.

Premier League fixtures have broken these matches up, and overall Arsenal have won nine of their last ten meetings with the Championship outfit and haven’t lost to them since 2008.

      Team News

Arsenal – The home side have a few fresh injury concerns to deal with for this match, with Laurent Koscielny a doubt and fellow defenders Kieran Gibbs and Gabriel Paulista are unlikely to feature. They could join injury list mainstays Tomas Rosicky, Jack Wilshere, and Santi Cazorla on the sidelines.

Hull – They are still without the injured Adama Diomande, and the in form Chuba Akpom and Isaac Hayden are ineligible to play as they are currently on loan from Arsenal.
